Please join Rashid Hughes, @justbeandbreathe core facilitator and co-leader of the Heart Refuge mindfulness community for BIPOC and Dr. Sará King, neuroscientist at OHSU and founder of MindHeart Consulting as they continue to explore the embodied expression of “Aggression Masquerading as Compassion, Part II” and what this means for the work of liberation, healing and social justice.
In the second part of this dharma series, Rashid and Dr. King will explore the Buddhist philosophy of the 8-fold path as a pathway and a “map” to help guide participants exploration of “Aggression Masquerading as Compassion.” They will offer both a discussion as well as guided meditation practice and an opportunity for community sharing/questions.
Let’s be real y’all. There’s folx out here trying to convince us that violence towards ourselves and whomever we consider to be the “other” is a path of righteousness and redemption! The only way through this kind of tomfoolery is through truly compassionate relationship with body, mind, and spirit. We hope this video is a healing balm of love in times of great calamity!!!
